Oh what an unfortunate week it was for me last week.
Not too long ago, some jerkoff stole my bank information, which clearly means they stole money directly out of my account. While my bank was able to replace my card and money, the stress of feeling money being taken out of my pocket was enough to slowly drive me crazy.
Why am I sharing this with you? Well, one of last week’s Best Bets included Jacksonville -3.5 at home versus a struggling LA Chargers team. In the final two minutes, there were two interceptions, a fumble, a taunting penalty and a roughing the passer. The taunting by Jacksonville took the INT from the 2 yard line to the 17, which led to Jacksonville kicking the game-winning FG (in OT INSTEAD OF THE TD THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD.) At the moment of the FG, I felt the money being ripped out of my pockets once again.
You can’t make up these heartbreakers and you certainly cannot predict the fashion, but it is a new week, which means a new opportunity to make some money. Let’s just hope the bad luck doesn’t carry over into this week.
Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears +3
Kansas City Chiefs @ NY Giants +10.5
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Miami Dolphins -1
Baltimore Ravens @ Green Bay Packers -2
LA Rams @ Minnesota Vikings -2.5
Arizona Cardinals @ Houston Texans -1
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland Browns +7.5
Washington Redskins @ New Orleans Saints -7.5
Buffalo Bills @ LA Chargers -4
Cincinnati Bengals @ Denver Broncos -2.5
New England Patriots @ Oakland Raiders +7 (in Mexico City)
Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys +4
Atlanta Falcons @ Seattle Seahawks -3
LA Rams +2.5: Watching my home team, the Ravens, has been very painful this year because of how terrible they are along with the incredibly underwhelming talent on both sides of the ball. As a result, I’ve been watching more and more Rams games and they seem to be the real deal. While Minnesota is a top 10 D along with being a 7-2 team overall, I do think LA’s creativity and skill set could and should overcome the Vikings tough defense. This game might be the most interesting to watch this week - ride the Rams.
LA Chargers -4: Ew back-to-back LA bets? Gross! Yeah, I’m not too happy about this one either, especially because the Chargers just aren’t good. The silver lining here is as follows: 1. Buffalo is starting a rookie QB on the road across the freaking country, which usually doesn’t end well. 2. Buffalo has been in a tailspin the last two games, especially their defense. 3. Buffalo is baaaaad on the road, averaging just 14.25 ppg while giving up 21.5 ppg on the road. I’ll take the risk and bet on LA.
Philadelphia Eagles -4: The Eagles are that team this season, covering 7 of 9 games while also earning that same record overall this season. Dallas is a different team without Zeke and without OL Tyron Smith (see Clayborn, Adrian). Smith is questionable again this week, which is big for betting on Philly. I’m going to ride the Eagles until Vegas stops doubting them, you should too.
