I seem to struggle every week to come up with a short and sweet introduction in order to peak the casual viewers’ interest, but I’m running a little low on motivation and time this week. Instead, I’ll reflect on last week’s success.
Last week’s best bets included two winners that covered by 1 point each in Chicago (+9) and New England (-7). Did we get a little lucky? Maybe, but I think there is luck involved in everything when it comes to sports. We did lose Detroit +3…at home….coming off their bye week. It’s frustrating, but whatever. I can’t imagine how Detroit fans feel about losing a game they had TWO WEEKS to prepare for AT HOME. Bad teams are going to be bad teams, I suppose.
Denver Broncos @ Philadelphia Eagles -7.5
LA Rams @ NY Giants +3.5
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints -7
Cincinnati Bengals @ Jacksonville Jaguars -5.5
Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers +1
Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans -7
Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans -3.5
Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers +2.5
Washington Redskins @ Seattle Seahawks -7
Kansas City Chiefs @ Dallas Cowboys -2.5
Oakland Raiders @ Miami +3
Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers +2.5
Philadelphia Eagles -7.5: Philly is starting to look like this season’s juggernaut team, aka the team we ride every week, even without a tune similar to “Zeke’s a freak and that’s a known fact” of 2016. Regardless, the Eagles are tied for the best ATS record in the NFL along with KC and a surprise team in the Jets. While Vegas still can’t gauge Philly correctly, I’m going to go out on a limb and say they cover versus Denver, who is one of the worst ATS teams in the NFL.
New Orleans Saints -7: Remember that ATS spread from above? Well the Saints are one game behind Philly in ATS record, and they get to play Tampa Bay who is the second worst ATS team in the NFL. It does worry me a little because it’s a division game, but I’ll take my chances and you should too.
San Francisco 49ers +2.5: Let’s nominate this as the “Gross Pick of the Week”, ok? I know SF is baaaad and they’re probably starting a brand new QB against a decent Cardinals’ D. I think Carlos Hyde will be a big factor in this game and a home dog is always nice. Once again, Arizona STINKS ATS. They are literally the worst team in the league, so let’s pick on them, ok?
